Staff will have a minimum of 40 hours training before being allowed to fill a shift as Teaching Parents. New hires will shadow staff (in addition) until training is completed. This training includes (but is not limited to) the fundamentals of behavioral management, Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB), a 16 hour certification, Trauma Based Approaches, and all policies and procedures relevant to performing the duties of a teaching parent according to KDHE and SRS guidelines.
The youth programming will be as comprehensive as possible so as to provide for the needs of all youth who come to be placed in our care.
