Educational Program:

USD 293 Quinter School District has small classes, talented caring teachers and special education departments grades K-12. Tutoring is available a minimum of 3.5 hours per week.  Our youth attend “regular” school, and being successful there is a large part of normalizing the experience of the youth and helps their transition to a lower level of care.

One of the board members is the lead Special Education teacher (with over twenty years of experience with special needs children) at the school, so there is a very strong bond to Hope House youth and our mission.  Many of the youth arrive with different kinds of Individual Education Plans and are often way behind academically.  This relationship along with the clinical/educational experience of the administrative staff in partnering with schools is very beneficial to most youth.  We have already had one youth make up two years in one school year in 2008.  Being successful in school and finding something to feel good about is a major part of the healing process for the youth.

Also included in the resident's education are vocational and life skills or independent living programs.
